Hostels:

Cannon Street Backpackers (1800 069 731):
110 Franklin Street
This very big hostel is literally right across from the bus station in the city centre, so very convenient if you are sick carrying your backpack around the place. Smoking/non-smoking tv rooms, large well equipped kitchens, pool tables and table-tennis tables and internet access are just some of the facilties here. You can also book your tours here. One downfall is the hostel's bar - it can be a tad quiet. Beds in dorms of 10 cost $15 per night, and $18 in dorms of 4

Adelaide City Backpackers (08 8212 2668):
239 Franklin Street
This is an old two-storey house renovated into a hostel which works quite well. A bar serving cheap food is conveniently situated on the premises. 8/10 bed dorms cost $20 per night (including breakfast)

Glenelg Beach Resort (1800 066 422):
7 Moseley Street, Glenelg
If you want to be by the beach then Glenelg is the place to stay. Lots of activity here with a bar on premises which is open to the public. Anything from karaoke to live music goes on here nightly. A good place to meet people. 8-bed dorms are $16 per night, $18 in 4-6 bed dorms, and $20 in 3-bed dorms (from 1st May '02-31st Aug '02)

8-bed dorms are $20 per night, $22 in 4-6 bed dorms, and $25 in 3-bed dorms (from 1st Sept '02-30th April '03)
