Coober Pedy Museum :
If you stay in the Opal Cave Bedrock hostel you should make a visit to this museum as it is two minute walk away. Inside you can watch films describing how the town first started it's unique underground accommodation style, as well as buy opals. You also get the chance to see a typical Coober Pedy home.

Go to Mass :
Ok, so you might not be travelling around Australia looking for divine inspiration, but where else are you going to find an underground church? Definitely worth a visit.

Buy an opal:
There are over 250,000 mine shafts in and around Coober Pedy which, as you can imagine, produce quite a lot of opals. No matter wherer you go in Australia you will always see shops selling opals but this is undoubtedly the best place down under to purchase their sacred stone.
