Things to do:

Go Whale Watching:
Hervey Bay is one of a few places to study whales in Queensland. There are many operators to choose from in the area so shop around.

Skydive:
Just like all places on the coast, Hervey Bay is a popular place to do skydives. The view from above on this occasion is of Fraser Island. Skydive Hervey Bay (07 4124 8248) offer 10,000ft from $199 and is one of only a few operators on the coast that can offer jumps from 14,000ft.

Visit a Tourist Centre:
There are good tourist centres to visit in Hervey Bay. The best known of these is Vic Hislop's Great White Shark Expo. The centre is full of memoribila collected by the named shark expert. He also has a centre in Airlie Beach. Another is Neptune's Reef World which is a moderate aquarium.

Get the Ferry to Fraser:
The ferry from Hervey Bay to Fraser Island takes around 45 minutes to an hour. With most trips, whether it is a day trip or 3 day trip self-drive/guided tour, the cost of the ferry is included in the price.
